Abhyanga is a unique form of massage where prescribed warm medicated oil is applied on the body, head and gently massaged. The steam bath (Swedhanam) follows — opening the pores, removing all toxins. A great therapy for toning the skin and giving it a special glow.
Shirodhara (Shiro – Head, Dhara – Flow) is considered as the most divine of all Ayurvedic therapies. In this wonderful relaxation process, the scalp and forehead are caressed with a thin stream of medicated lukewarm oil. Shirodhara is extremely relaxing, rejuvenating and enhances the functioning of the central nervous system.
Kati Vasti is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment used for lower backache and disorders of the lumbosacral region, including slip disc, lumbar spondylosis, sciatica, spinal problems etc. Elakkizhi is a treatment for general body ache — fresh herbs cooked in herbal oils are tied up into poultices, warmed by dipping in heated medicated oil and applied all over the body. During the fomentation, the poultices are periodically dipped in the oil.
Takra Dhara is similar to Shirodhara but uses medicated buttermilk. The milk is boiled, medicines and curd are added, kept overnight, then poured continuously to the centre of the forehead.
A combination of Abhyangam, herbal body scrub, and steam for deep exfoliation and skin brightening. The Fruit Massage uses fresh fruits rich in vitamins and antioxidants for instant glow and rejuvenation.
Thala Pothichil, also known as Shirolepa, is a widely recommended Ayurvedic treatment involving herbal pastes of high medical value. The scalp is completely covered in herbal pastes which penetrate and nourish the brain and central nervous system, rejuvenating the individual from inside.
The face is gently massaged, then medicinal paste is applied and kept for some time. Improves skin complexion, provides coolness to eyes, removes fatigue of facial muscles, and gives great results for wrinkles and acne.
Netra Tharpanam — medicated ghee retained over the eyes using a dough dam, nourishing and strengthening the eyes. Nasyam — medicated oils administered through the nostrils to cleanse the head and neck region.
Hijama (Cupping Therapy) — suction cups applied to draw out impure blood and toxins. Leech Therapy (Jalaukavacharana) — classical Ayurvedic bloodletting for skin disorders, varicose veins, and localised inflammation.
